I put this MiniArt 1:16 scale plastic model kit together and painted it for a friend. Even though I meant to keep careful track of the time spent on the model, I didn't. So a rough estimate would be about 20-30 hours of work. The last time I assembled a model this size I was in 6th grade and the model was Superboy bursting thru a brick wall. The construction and painting of large model is a completely different experience. I learned a lot about cleaning mold lines, but I have not mastered that art yet. Looking at the model after it was completed, I see every mold line that I could have done better. The shield design is a decal that came with the kit, it broken in several places so I had to do touch up work on that. Overall it came out much better than I thought it would. |
